Sitting in an old apartment above an overflowing and swelling city, an old man has the epiphany that Human life has gone from insignificant to downright parasitic. From this epiphany he hatches a plan to rid the entire earth of humans, with a grand conclusion of taking his own life (the final human) after all else have died. He creates these fantastic plans to carry out this dream, taking to pen and paper to create grand hateful schemes. As soon as he start to plan and research these schemes however, he runs into a reoccurring obstacle in which he notices that it seems as if someone else is beating him to his grand plan. He wants to tear down our infrastructure, deteriorate schools and government, prevent a future, and yet he feels as if he is being beaten to the punch by some unseen figure. After this goes on for a while he finally decides that to truly end all humanity on earth he would have to create these grand machines that destroy the air and water, he gets to work immediately even drafting a few plans before suddenly falling ill. And as he is about to die one morning he looks out a window thinking that he has failed, that is life's work is unfinished, but as he looks out a window into the morning sun, he can barely see it through the haze and smog, and he laughs to himself knowing that his work was already done.
